城市化与城市旅游之间存在密切的联系 ,但城市化进程的加快并不必然带来城市旅游的发展。西部大开发要以城市开发为重点 ,以旅游开发为先导 ,就要解决城市化与城市旅游协调发展的问题。加快西部地区城市化进程是一个不可逆转的趋势 ,在这一过程中 ,如果在城市开发与建设的内容、方式方法等方面做出科学合理的抉择 。

To quicken the steps of urbanization is not must lead to a great improvement of urban tourism though the two sides keep in contact with each other. It is necessity to solve the problem of how to handle the relationship between urbanization and urban tourism in the course of developing west China because the course should begin with exploiting of cities and tourism. The writer believe that if we have the right choices in the course of quickening the steps of urbanization, the development of urban tourism should realize smoothly too.
