摘要
五磷酸钕(NdPP)晶体是小型激光器的重要工作物质.生长区界面缺陷严重影响激光性能.本文用X射线形貌术研究了这种缺陷在晶体中的分布和特征,讨论了它的形成原因及克服方法.最后指出,可用正交偏光技术对大块晶体中这种缺陷施行检查,给选取激光棒,避开此缺陷提供了简便可行的方法.
Neodymium pentaphosphate (NdPP) crystal is an important working material for miniature lasers. The interfacial defects in the growth region seriously affect the laser performance. This paper reports the results of the studies on the distribution and characteristic of such defects by using X-ray topography. The cause of the formation and the method of overcoming such defects are also discussed. Finally, this paper has pointed out that such defects in bulk NdPP crystal can be examined by using cross-polarized light technique. This has provided a convenient and easy means of selecting the laser rods and avoiding the defects.
