In this paper, the establishment and definition of mathematical model for the open circuit are introduced. Calculation and description of the fringing capacitance and the delay in the mathematical model of the open circuit are studied. A simple method to calculate the fringing capacitance of the open circuit is emphasized. Finally, an example of 3.5mm coaxial open circuit is given to verify the method.
