摘要
主位是信息的起点,是交际的出发点.马泰休斯认为把句子分成主位和述位的方法,是用来研究句子以何种方式与上下文语境发生联系的.句子正是在这种具体语境的基础上形成的.语言的线性表现这一点决定了发话者传递信息时必须考虑语言结构的排列.本文认为语篇分析可以避开复杂的主位推进程序,而直接利用主位序列来进行宏观主位和超句主位的提取;根据所排列出的语篇的主位序列,我们便可以了解语篇的大致内容,归纳中心思想,因而对语篇阅读教学有着十分重要的作用.
In functional linguistics, Theme is regarded as the starting point of information and communication. Mathesius' Theme & Rheme theory originated for studying how a clause is related to its context. As a matter of fact, a clause is formed just on the basis of a certain context. The linear characteristic of language largely requires that in the process of communication, the speaker / writer should take the arrangement of language structure into consideration. This paper points out that we may use Thematic Sequence to deal with text analysis instead of applying the complicated Thematic Progression Theory. The authors claim that by thematic sequence we may easily find out the macro theme and super sentential theme in a text,and thereby we are able to epitomize an overall understanding of a text simply by listing the themes. Thus the paper finally focuses on the application of this approach to effective reading.
