After the Second World War, the U.S. retained the Mikado system in Japan out of its' own interest. The reasons might be: first, America's deep understanding and appropriate judgement of the situation in Japan and, secondly the influence of the world at the time. The contemporary Mikado system is different from what it used to be and has developed some new characteristics. It has exerted great influences on Japanese society in postwar time.
