There is no accordant opinion about Emperor Han Wu's fighting Hun in the field of history study, but most of the scholars affirmed Han's performance. When we study it carefully, we will find that the war has brought great calamity to the whole dynasty and even the whole nation. The contradiction had the chance of easing up peaceably, but they chose the fighting and paid great price for it. It has something to do with Emperor Han Wu's strong consciousness of controlling. By this fighting, Emperor Han Wu made a series of reformation of system and swept obstruction in centralization of state power and strengthened the imperial power. Strong consciousness of controlling has turned into reality.
