摘要
针对彩色等离子体显示器 (PDP)采用传统灰度校正方法存在严重灰度损失和灰度畸变的问题 ,在分析视觉灵敏度特性和亮度变化关系的基础上 ,提出了用多项式拟合进行灰度校正的新方法 .该方法利用视觉灵敏度和亮度的对数在一定亮度区间的线性关系 ,把PDP的亮度划分为多个区间 ,根据每个区间的最小灵敏度阈值 ,计算出输入灰度对应的亮度 ,同时改进PDP实现多灰度级显示的最小亮度间隔 ,使显示亮度和计算亮度相等的最小亮度间隔数即为准确的输出灰度级 ,从而求出输入输出灰度级之间的多项式关系 .计算结果表明 :采用所提出的方法 ,明显提高了彩色PDP的灰度再现能力 ,灰度损失由原来的10 7%减小到 4 5 %以下 ,图像质量指数提高了
The greater gray scale loss and gray scale distortion of color plasma display panel (PDP) are brought about by the conventional gray scale correction. After analyzing the relation between visual sensitivity characteristic and luminance variation, a new method, namely polynomial fit to gray scale correction, is proposed. The linear relation between visual sensitivity and algorithm of luminance facilitates the luminance of PDP to be divided into several regions. The luminance corresponding input gray scale is worked out based on the minimal visual sensitivity threshold value of each luminance region. And the exact output gray scale is the number of minimal luminance distance to realize gray scale display being improved which makes display luminance equal to calculated luminance. The polynomial expressions for input gray scale and output gray scale are found. The calculation results indicate that the ability of gray scale reproduction is improved, gray scale loss is reduced from 10.7% to 4.5% or less, and image quality is increased more than 7% with the above mentioned method.
