Steaming media is a technology used to transfer multimedia information by stream in data network. In recent years, with the development of broadband network and the increasing of user requirements, streaming media as well as its related applications get more and more focus and are thought as one of the main applications in future network. In this paper, A brief introduction about streaming media is provided, including its concept, application types, key technology, service system, operation methods.
