在掷铁饼完整技术环节中，衔接技术速度非常迅速，衔接技术所用的时间仅占总掷铁饼时间的1／8－1／12，衔接这一技术的掌握难度非常大，不易掌握，而且常常被忽视。掷铁饼技术属于斜抛运动，根据力学原理，铁饼预行速度和爆发速度，以及高速度间的夹角是影响出手速度的三大重要因素。
