东亚飞蝗卵巢在羽化后7天内,各种成分含量尚无显著变化,在第7—10天交配开始时出现明显变化,自羽化第10天以后各成分皆有迅速的增加。脂肪类物质、含氮和含磷化合物在卵巢中迅速积累,在第15—20天期间卵巢发育成熟并开始产卵,所以在第20天以后各成分的平均含量逐渐下降。卵巢匀浆耗氧量(按每个卵巢每小时计)随着卵巢的发育逐渐增加,在羽化7—10天以后增长尤为显著,这说明卵巢发育过程中代谢速率的相应变化。但以每克卵巢每小时计,则在7—10天以后耗氧量下降。 睾丸中各种成分含量约于羽化后第10天左右达到最大值,交配以后其含量和耗氧量则趋于下降;这可能与排精有关。如依百分含量计,脂肪含量于羽化后7—10天期间有明显增加,含氮量在第5天时较高,总磷量在羽化初期偏高。耗氧量(依每个或每克睾丸每小时计算)于羽化后5—7天时处于较高水平。 上述结果表明雄蝗睾丸在交配之前即已发育成熟,而雌蝗卵巢只有在经过交配活动之后才迅速发育起来。
This paper deals with the changes of some chief constituents of the reproductive or-gans of the oriental migratory locust, Locusta migratoria manilensis Meyen, during adultdevelopment. Determinations of the fresh weight, dry weight, lipid-content, nitrogen-con-tent, phosphorus-content and oxygen consumption of the ovary in the first few days afteremergence indicated that the contents of these constituents did not exhibit definitechanges. They began to change after copulation (e.g. during 7--10 days after emer-gence), and their contents increased rapidly from the 10th day after emergence. Theovary completed its development within 15--20 days and the female began to oviposit, sothat the average contents of the constituents decreased thereafter. During the period ofovary development the oxygen consumption of ovary homogenate gradually increased, es-pecially since the 7--10th days after emergence. But the oxygen consumption by unitweight of the ovary tissue decreased from the 7--10 days after emergence. This may berelated to the accumulation of the lipid- and nitrogen-containing compound in theoocytes during the rapid development of the ovary after emergence. The contents of chief constituents of the testis reached the maximum on about the10th day after emergence. That the oxygen consumption of testis homogenate reachedhigher level about 5--7 days after copulation may be concerned with the passing out ofthe sperms. The change in the contents of the chief constituents per fresh weight of thetestis indicated that the increase of lipids was obvious during the 7--10th days afteremergence, the nitrogen content reached the maximum about the 5th day, and phosphouscontent was highest during the period shortly after emergence. Oxygen consumption(per gram testis per hour) also reached a higher level during the 5--7th days after emer-gence. The above results indicate that the testis of the male locust matures before copula-tion, and on the contrary, the ovary of the female locust develops rapidly only after co-pulation.
