The ceramic assemblage B remains from the Maojiaping site in Gangu represents a type of distinctive archaeological culture. The latest archaeological discoveries have enriched our understanding about those remains. In general, the assemblage B remains can be divided into two groups.Group Ⅰ ceramics includes li tripod with two pan-handles,and li tripods with two ring-handles.Li vessels of the early period are relatively large with big hallow legs. Also, the lobes attached to the bottom of each hallow leg changed from the column-shape to shavel-shape.Group Ⅱ includes double ring-handed jar, single ring-handled jar, double pan-handled jar,and long-necked jar.The colors of ceramic of this group vary greatly. Also, ceramics of this group are sand-tempered with low firing-temperature and loose texture. This paper suggests that the first group of remains was associated with the Lijiaya culture, while the latter one was derived from the Siwa culture. In other words, the Assemblage B remains were the hybrid of two different archaeological cultures.
