Through the standard penetration test (SPT) the plug behavior of PHC piles in silty sand and the influence to the characteristics of the soil around PHC pile by driving or jacking methods are studied. The law of ultimate bearing capacity changing with repose period and the time effect are also studied. It is shown that the vertical bearing capacity tends to be stable while the period of repose is over 25 days.
