《走向新建筑》一书,几乎是学习建筑学专业的必读之书。作者勒·柯布西耶呼吁要创造新时代的新建筑,建议新的建筑发展应当向着工业化发展,对新生的机械精神的赞扬不遗余力,追求简约的"纯粹主义"。始终贯穿全书的都是否定停滞不前的复古主义、机械拼凑的折衷主义等这些守旧的建筑风格,主张新时代新建筑的超前设计观念。

'Toward a New Architecture' is almost required reading professional books to study architecture. Corbusier called for the creation of a new building of a new era, the proposed new building development should be towards the industrialization of the nascent spirit of praise machinery spare no effort in the pursuit of simplicity 'purist.' Throughout the book it is always negative stagnant revivalist, machinery, etc. These eclectic patchwork of old-fashioned architecture, advanced design concepts advocated a new era and a new building.
