根据Haliday和Hasan的系统功能理论可知,衔接和连贯作为语篇的重要特征是语篇语言学研究的核心。《红楼梦》作为中国古典小说的集大成者,有着极高的语言研究价值,本文拟选择霍克斯的英译本来比对英汉语篇衔接手法的异同,并尝试讨论翻译中如何转换翻译方法从而达到跨文化交际的目的。
