摘要
批判性思维是一个理念,而不是一个学科。批判性思维论者将它与通识教育相联系,希望设置课程。本文讨论了理念与学科及课程的关系并指出,通识教育是通过专业教学而实现的;如果批判性思维是与通识教育相符合的理念,则不需要通过专业教学来实现,不需要设置专门课程;逻辑是一门基础课,以批判性思维为目的而改造逻辑课程是错误的。既然不否认逻辑课有助于提高批判性思维素养和能力,就应该认真教好逻辑课。理念是有解释空间的,谁都可以说上几句,高校教师有开课自由,但是一门课程的设定却一定会涉及专业和学科,必须慎重,不能随意仅凭一个理念来进行,尤其是一个不那么清晰的理念。
Critical thinking is a concept rather than a discipline. Critical thinkers associate it with liberal education and plan to set up curriculum. The article,based on the connection among concept,discipline and curriculum,states that liberal education is achieved by means of professional teaching. If critical thinking corresponds to liberal education,professional teaching and specialized curriculum are deemed unnecessary. It is obviously wrong to reform the logic curriculum which serves as an elementary course,to attain the objective of critical thinking. Logic curriculum should be attached more importance since there is no denying that it contributes to enhancement of both critical thinking quality and ability. While concept leaves room for wide interpretation,the curriculum setting involves profession and discipline,which should not simply be conducted according to a concept,let alone an ambiguous one.
