On the Fuzziness of Language and English Teaching

人们对模糊语的研究可以追溯到20世纪初,1902年美国实用主义和符号学的创始人、世界著名哲学家Pierce给模糊语下了一个定义,随后美国控制论专家扎德为模糊语言学界定了研究方法。本文概括介绍了有关模糊语言学的定义和表现方式,着重探讨模糊语在英语教学中的运用。

The study of fuzzy language can be dated back to the early 20 th centurty. In 1902, pierce, the founder of American Pragmatism and semiotics as well as a well-known philosopher, officially defined the fuzziness of language. Later, Zadeh, an expert of cybernetics, confined the research method. This thesis generally introduces the definition and expressive mode of fuzzy linguistics with the emphasis on the use of fuzziness in English teaching.
