摘要
本文分析了中国人民大学团队翻译的中国戏曲英译本和阿林顿、艾克敦合译的中国戏曲英译本,发现两者呈现了不同特征,且这种特征往往与译者的文化身份相关:中国文化身份译者更关注译文与原文的一致性;西方文化身份译者更关注译文的接受。后者的翻译秉持了多元文化立场,是中国文化'走出去'翻译的思想超越。
This article attempts to analyze English versions of Chinese opera translated by Renmin University of China and Mr.Arlington and Prof.Acton,respectively,and finds that they are in principle related to the translator’s cultural identity.Chinese translators would fix their focus on consistency of the translation with the original,whereas the Western prefer to target reader’s reception.More importantly,foreign translators have taken a multicultural perspective in translating,which has provided insight into the intricacy of translation of Chinese culture.
