This paper briefly describes the main factors that influence the heat consumption of anode baking furnace. A new type furnace for anode baking, which was made by using the technology from PECHINEY, France, is introduced and analyzed in detail from the point of view of heat consumption. The special feature of the PECHINEY type anode baking furnace is its low heat consumption. Because of this, the PECHINEY type anode baking furnace will be widely used in the future.
