摘要
长白山浮石矿是以白头山天池火山口为喷发中心,于第四纪全新世最后一次爆发性猛烈喷发的产物。根据成因,可分为浮石和层浮石两种类型。浮石呈灰白色,属松散颗粒状,质纯具有未经风化冲刷而原始堆积的特点。由于多孔状的浮石比重小于1,原地火山沉积的浮石经水流搬运至距火山口较远的区域沉积,所以在吉林省以长白山为源头的一些流域广布被冲刷的浮石块及火山灰,并在适当地点形成层浮石沉积,这类矿床常与非火山沉积物混合。
The Changbaishan pumice is distributed widely.The orebed is stable and easy to mine.The pumice has the following characteristics! low specific gravity,abrasive resistance, good thermal characteristics, heat preservation and insulation etc. According to investigation, the Changbaishan pumice is being used as abrasives (5-8cm) i.e. 'Washing Stone'. Porous pumice is used as filler of bonder and loose filling insulating materials in light weight concrete. The pumice with cutting edge angle and abrasive resistance is widely used as natural abrasive and polishing material in the world.
