摘要
许筠的“人物传”取舍和褒贬之中反映了作者的价值观取向。在《严处士传》与《荪谷山人传》中,许筠一方面阐发其不拘一格任用人才的观念,一方面塑造了理想中的不沽名钓誉、不做乡愿的真儒形象。《南宫先生传》、《张山人传》、《蒋生传》则借鉴唐传奇的写作方法,参考《太平广记》中的神仙故事模式,表达他佛道合流的理想,以及对道教修炼内丹的认同和对海外仙山的向往。这些作品不但显明了许筠其人的思想内涵和文学成就,而且折射出当时的社会思潮。
Heo Kyun(AD.1569~AD.1618)was a distinguished scholar in the mi d -Jo Seon Dynasty.In his five biographies,the choice of the b iographees and the biographer's cle ar -cut attitude of praising virtue a nd censuring all vice mirrors his values.In his works Yan Chushi Zhuan and Sungu Shanren Zhuan,Heo Kkyun,on the one hand,displayed his idea of di scarding uniformity of standards in selecting and appointing people with special talents and on the other hand,he portrayed some real Confucian figures who hated angling for fame and courting publicity or being hypocritical conformists.In his works Nangong Xiansheng Zhuan,Zhang Shanren Zhuan and Jiang Sheng Zhuan,he drew on the writing skills of the T ang short stories and consulted the n arration model used in the fairy tales of Tai Pi ng Guang Ji.These works express his i deal of having Buddhism and Taoism merged into one,his approval of Taoism's practicing austerities so as to make internal'pills'of immortality and his yearn for a place inhabited by supern atural beings.Through studying Zhuan,we can not only grasp the character,ideological implication and literary achievements of Heo Kyun,but als o understand the social trends of the then Jo Seon Dynasty.
