There is little doubt that the new textbook The21st Century College English is excellent in many aspects.But a set of good textbook is not the guarantee of desired teaching effect.It takes efforts of both learners and teachers in order to exploit the textbook to its full.In this article,the author is concerned with several points to which attention should be paid so as to make the best use of the textbook:bringing into full play the students'autonomy;changing the traditional teacher_centered classroom teaching into the learner_centered teaching model;integrating the input with the output.
