摘要
本文通过对汉姆莱特'To be,or not to be'所隐含的意义之哲学挖掘和文本分析,揭示汉姆莱特性格中的怀疑倾向和探索精神所折射的悲剧意义。笔者认为,汉姆莱特从第一个独白的伊始,就表现出对事物极强的怀疑心理和弄清事物真相的探索精神,他著名的独白'To be,or not to be'承载的不仅仅是对生存意义的怀疑中的生死选择问题,而且还是作为一个人文主义者延续古希腊哲人本体论探索的传统,对事物存在和本质的思考。汉姆莱特在怀疑和探索过程中所表现的忍受痛苦和折磨的勇气,折射出人的德性和悲剧的意义。
The article attempts to extend a philosophical and textual analysis to the implicit meanings of Hamlet’s'To be,or not to be,'thus laying open the tragic significance of Hamlet in his doubt of and inquiry into things. The author argues that a psychology of doubt of things and an endeavor to know the essence and truth of things determines in part Hamlet as a tragic hero throughout the play, and his'To be,or not to be'concerns not merely the choice of life and death but also the metaphysical thinking of Being in light of the Greek tradition. That Hamlet shows courage and endurance in face of suffering reflects the basic moral sense of human beings and the spirit of the tragedy.
