摘要
自恋型CEO对组织的影响效果是近年来组织行为领域的研究热点,然而现有研究尚未从战略决策过程视角思考自恋型CEO的影响作用。鉴于此,以领导特质模型和权力聚焦理论为基础,探讨自恋型CEO对企业战略决策效果的影响及其内在机制和边界条件。通过对116个企业高管团队进行多时点的问卷调查,层级回归结果表明:自恋型CEO与战略决策全面性显著负相关,但与战略决策速度显著正相关;高管团队战略决策参与在其中起到了中介作用。此外,CEO权力强度调节了自恋型CEO与高管团队战略决策参与之间的负向关系,即CEO权力越大,自恋型CEO对高管团队战略决策参与的负向影响越强。
In recent years,CEO narcissism becomes a heated topic in the field of organizational behavior.However,there is few research focusing on how narcissistic CEO influences organizational decision making process.Based on the leader trait model and power focus theory,this paper explores the impact of CEO narcissism on strategic decision making quality.Using a two-wave survey from 116 CEOs and their corresponding top management team members,the hierarchical regression results show as follows:CEO narcissism has a positive impact on decision speed and a negative impact on decision comprehensiveness;top management team’s participation in decision making mediates these relationships;Besides,CEO’s power moderates the relationship between CEO narcissism and top management team’s participation in decision making such that this negative relationship is more stronger when CEO narcissism has a greater power.
