When I came to study in Chengdu, the first thing that struck me was how different life at a Chinese university was from life in Nepal. For example, one evening as I was passing the playground,I witnessed something that I had never seen before–people were exercising and playing sports in the evening. Some were running, while others were playing ping pong or basketball. However, what surprised me most was that there were many people, old included, dancing together. It was a striking contrast to my country where old people usually don’t dance or play sports and where we generally exercise in the morning rather than in the evening.I soon realized that these things were important aspects of Chinese culture, and I found them very interesting indeed.
