Informed consent is an important principal of medical ethics. It results from the decline of doctors′ absolute moral authority and the patients′ increasing awareness of autonomy. It is the embodiment of respecting the principles of the patients′ autonomy and doctors′ practicing philanthropy, and the unity of the patients′ right and doctors′ moral duty.
