Of allthe parts of the railway, Zhanjiang-Hainan railway and Hainan Island west-coastal railway are the ordinary railwayswith no technical difficulties, but the railway ferry part is a great challenge. The paper further explains the composition,key technologies and solutions of the railway ferry and compares those with the similar ones in other countries.
