English has become an international language.With the growth of population and of political and economic power in the United States,American English has great influence on varieties of English.This paper analyses the causes of American invasion of New Zealand English in the fields of vocabulary,pronunciations,spellings and grammar,and at the same time explores American influence on varieties of English and its effects on our learning of English.
