This paper gives a brief introduction to two fundamental aspects of word meaning network.There exist not only interaction and interrelation among the denotation and connotation of a word but also the distinction between them and relative dependence.More importantly, it illustrates clearly the fact that both denotation and connotation of a word,especially the later, greatly influences the language learner's usage and comprehension of language.If you know the meaning of a whole word,you'll safely, freely and accurately use and understand it.
