摘要
介绍了美国科学信息研究所(InstituteforScientificInformation,ISI)的主要信息产品及选刊标准,讨论了《科学引文索引》(ScienceCitationIndex,SCI)在科研绩效评价中的作用及应注意的问题。认为SCI评价指标适合于评价自然科学基础理论成果,可用于分析评价国家、地区和机构的研究水平和预测学科发展态势,用于个人成果评价时则应谨慎;具体应用时,应根据学科特点,坚持同类相比;不同层次的研究机构不能都将SCI作为唯一的评价标准。
The feature products from Institute Scientific Information (ISI) and their journal selection standards are introduced.The use of Science Citation Index (SCI) in the assessment of research is discussed.It is pointed out that SCI can be use for evaluating basic theory research of science,measuring scientific trends and analyzing research performance of academic institutions,areas and countries;evaluating individual research performance by SCI should handle with care;SCI indicators from different disciplines should not compared together;evaluating the research performance of all units by SCI is not feasible for lack of universality.
