By the micromorphological investigation, the microcharacteristics of soil are analysed. The purpose is to study the erosion durability of the soil. The results show that soil development in the Yellow River delta region is in the initial stage and the soil maintains the peculiarities of alluvial deposit in some aspects, including mineral composition, organic substance and pedological features. The soil microstructure is poor and the erosion durability is not good. The microecological system is vulnerable. The soil and water loss takes place easily after artificial disturbance. From the top of the delta to Hekou, soil development comes to a lower quality and soil erosion is easier to appear. As is shown, the more attention should be paid to the protection of the soil microecoenvironment.
