East China's province of Shandong announced its intention to build 110 projects with overseas funds, A news conference was held recently and six projects were secured by signing of contracts on the same day. A local government official says during the tenth Five Year plan period. Shandong will put more emphasis on the development in such areas as energy, transportation, forestry and water resources, electronics and information, bioengineering, new materials and new energies. At the same time, the province will also open wider to the outside world tourism, environment and service industries.
