As a limiting cyclic event, 400 m race is facing a relatively large number of influencing factors. The paper thus conducts a correlation analysis of the 400 m race with intervals that contribute to the rankings of eight male competitors of the final in the 1997 World Track and Field Championships. Related calculation helps get initial definition of the degree of correlation between the race with intervals and the records ,which therefore can provide a quantitative basis for scientific training.
