B.H.Komissrow is one of the representatives of linguistic school in contemporary translation studies.This paper mainly introduces his reflective comments upon the 20 th century translation theory which,according to him,concerns the following eight problems:(1)controversy about whether a translation is a science or a craft,(2)the content of translation theory,(3)translation equivalence,(4)translation model,(5)translation strategies,(6)pragmatic translation,(7)subbranches in translation studies,(8)creativity when translating.
