关于语言学习和语言意义,奎因持自然主义和行为主义的观点,正是行为主义的观点导致了翻译的不确定思想.意义的不确定性是奎因的翻译不确定性理论的主要内容,但是奎因并未就翻译问题作更加具体的阐述.本文认为有必要进一步论证和分析翻译的不确定性,并从中得到启示.本文拟从哲学解释学等角度探讨产生翻译不确定性的主要原因,从可译性问题、翻译方法、翻译标准等几方面研究翻译不确定性的具体表现,旨在突出辩证思维在翻译理论研究和翻译实践中的重要意义.

Quine holds naturalistic and behaviouristic points of view toward language acquisition and the study of meaning. It is the behaviouristic viwepoint that leads to the idea of the indeterminacy of translation. However, Quine expounds no more detailed views from the perspective of translation, and this paper thinks it both necessary and enlightening to further study the indeterminacy of translation, and it observes the theory from three aspects: the causes of the indeterminacy, the manifold manifestation, and the importance of dialectical thinking in translation studies as well as in translation practice.
