This paper introduces the design schema for substation's expert system of protection device action analysis. The design contents include feasibility analysis , structure design , knowledge base design , data base developer , reasoning rules and control strategy of this expert system. It is helpful for this expert system to analyze fault in substation and judge which protection device should act and know work state of protection device.
