Land Annexation Problems of Song Dynasty

相对较发达的商品经济社会 ,宋初为巩固中央集权采取的不抑兼并的土地政策是宋代土地兼并兴盛的根本原因 ;宋代中后期土地兼并的发展已对宋政府形成一定的威胁 ,于是不得不采取种种“摧制兼并”的举措 ,但是由于土地交易的频繁急剧及其官僚豪族的阻挠 ,这些改革终究都以失败而告终。

The basic reason why annexation of land in Song Dynasty was very popular was that the commodity economical society developed relatively free in Song Dynasty and the government adopted the land policy not controlling annexation at the beginning of Song Dynasty. In the middle period of Song Dynasty, the development of land annexation did so much harm to the government that ways of 'restraining the annexation of land' had been taken. But because of the frequent and quick land exchanges and the hindrance of the powerful rich families these reforms failed at last.
