Radiant Effect of City of Large and Medium Size during Modernization Process and Strategies to Realize Modernization:A Case Study of Large Cities in Guangdong Province

从讨论现代化城市辐射作用的基本理论问题和分析广东四个大城市(广州、深圳、湛江、汕头)的优劣势入手,对四个大城市的辐射能力、辐射方式和影响腹地进行了定位,探讨了四个大城市实现现代化的战略。

To some extent, thedegree of a city's radiant effect indi-cates its global competitiveness. Thispaper initially pays attention to theo-ries related to radiant effect of moderncity, and considers location, economicperformance, level of technologyinformation, and marketing level asthe main factors that influence radianteffect of a city because the level of acity's radiant effect can be judged onthe basis of these factors. And thenthe author takes four cities,Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shantou andZhanjiang in Guangdong Province asa case study to analyze modern cities'radiant effect, radiant mode and influ-ential hinterland.
