From Investigating History by Poetry to Interpreting Poetry by History--An Introductory Remark on the Poetic Value of Chen Yinque's Notes and Commentary on the Tang Poetry

陈寅恪唐诗笺证在20世纪唐诗学中占有非常重要的地位,它有极其丰富的诗学价值。以诗证史是唐诗笺证问题意识的具体表述。因史释诗是陈寅恪诗的阐释学原则,包含着三个相关要素,即诗学立场、诗境观念以及文学史观。

Owing to its abundant poetic value, Chen Yinque's notes and commentary on the Tang poetry takes a considerably important place in the 20th poetics of the Tang poetry. Chen embodies his problem sense in his approach of investigating history by poetry in his notes and commentary. Howver, Chen's principle of poetry interpretation is interpreting poetry by history, which consists of three relative key elements, namely, poetic position, perception of poetic level involved with ontology and theory of writing and historical view of literature.
