作者认为江泽民提出的"三个代表"思想，是对历史唯物主义关于社会发展评价尺度体系（生产力尺度、制度尺度、人的全面发展尺度）的丰富和发展。它构成了社会发展评价尺度体系的理论基础，对我们建构经济与社会协调发展的科学发展观，有着十分重要的意义。

The authors believe that the 'three Represents' Thought, raised by Jiang Zemin, is an enrichment and development to the historical materialism about the evaluating scale system of social development . The thought constitutes a theoretical basis for the system and has very important significance for us to build a scientific development view of coordinated economic and social development.
