党的十六大向全世界庄严宣告,中国要在本世纪第一个20年"集中力量,全面建设惠及十几亿人口的更高水平的小康社会"。由于过去我国有不少学者在小康概念的使用上出现了混乱的现象,因此,我们有必要进一步认清小康社会的本质和内涵,有必要对小康社会做出一些学理上的分析,从而在理论上澄清小康和小康社会的含义,这对于我们进行全面建设小康社会的实践具有重大的现实意义。

At the 16th CPC National Congress,China set the goal of building a welloff society in an allround way in the first 20 years of this century.However,the concept of a welloff society is misunderstood by many scholars,which brings about much confusion.So the authors want to make a detailed analysis of the concept from academic perspective,which is of important practical significance to our building a welloff society in an allround way.
