田径竞赛制度是组织和实施田径比赛的依据和指南,是一切田径活动所要遵循的一个中心原则。田径竞赛制度的先进与否直接影响了一个国家田径运动水平发展。因此田径竞赛制度必须符合田径运动的发展规律,必须服务于运动员和教练员,必须逐步的与国际赛制相接轨,才能真正提高我国的田径运动水平。

As the basis and guidance of organizing and implementing athletic competition, and as the principle that all the athletics should abide by, system reform has directly affect the national athletics development. In order to improve the level of our athletics, the competition system must be accordant with the development rule, must serve for athletes and coachers, and integrate with the international competition system step by step.
