Historical Development of Chinese Communist Party's Policies towards Taiwa n before establishing Relationship with America

中美建交前我党的对台方针 ,曾经历了从“解放台湾”到“不再使用‘解放台湾’这个提法”的演变过程。这一过程又包含了从武力解放台湾到尽力争取和平解放 ,但不排除使用武力 ,再到呼吁和谈和军事惩罚双管齐下三个不同阶段。这期间不同阶段的对台方针 ,反映了中共对如何解决台湾问题的不断探索与理性思考 。

Before establishing relationship with America, Chinese Communist Party's policies towards Taiwan had experienced a developing period from 'liberating Taiwan' to 'no longer using the term,'liberating Taiwan''. This period includes three stages: Liberating Taiwan by military forces; trying to seek for a peaceful liberation but not excluding the use of military forces; both of calling for peaceful negotiations and military punishment. The policies towards Taiwan in different period show that the Chinese Communist Party has been exploring the proper ways to solve the problem of Taiwan and its rational thinking, as offers some beneficial revelations to the future policies toward Taiwan.
