In this paper,an automatic engine room monitoring system in which PLC and PC are applied in combination is discussed.The improved monitoring system has been accomplished by using PLC to collect and pretreat data and PC to make database management and screen monitoring.The methods to collect data by using PLC and the communication between PLC and PC are presented.
