With the continuous growth of energy demand and the increasing demand for environmental protection, electric energy has become the primary source of energy supply in industrial production and daily life. With the development of automation technology, intelligent distribution network has been developed. Automation has become the common choice of various countries to meet the needs of different consumers. This paper analyzes the development status of smart distribution network in smart grid system. The functional requirements and safety protection measures for components of smart distribution network are described. Compared with the development process of intelligent distribution network, the development trend of intelligent distribution network is prospected.
