James Joyce’s famous novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man presented the process of its hero Stephan’ s spiritual development and his denial to the bourgeois values while it also showed out the basic living state of the Irish people, trying to explain how people in Ireland realize the absurdity of life and become the optimistic rebellion through different ways.
