Comparative study of the Chinese versions of Annabel Lee in the light of The Poetic Principle

爱伦·坡的诗歌创作是其《诗歌原理》的实践。《诗歌原理》中强调的诗歌三要素:主题美、音乐美和意境美,既可指导译者的翻译实践,也可作为评估译文质量的标准。《安娜贝尔·李》是爱伦·坡诗歌创作的代表,具有极高的美学价值。国内学者李正栓和曹明伦就该诗做出了不同版本的翻译,因此有必要对二者的译文进行比较评估。

The poetry of Edgar Allan Poe is the best practice of his book The Poetic Principle. The three elements: subject beauty,melody beauty and image beauty mentioned in The Poetic Principle not only give guidance to translator,but can be criteria to evaluate the quality of translation. Annabel Lee is one of most celebrated poetry of Poe. Hence,it is necessary to compare the quality of the two translated versions rendered by Li Zheng-shuan and Cao Ming-lun.
