清末直隶总督与外籍教习

The General Governors of Zhi Li Province in the Late Qing Dynasty and Foreign Teachers

清朝末年在编练新军,建新学堂,派游学,聘请外籍教习的改革活动中,时任直隶总督的李鸿章和袁世凯,积极聘用英、德、日等国的教习,在这一活动中扮演了非常重要的角色,使他们聘用外籍教习的工作和外籍教习在直隶省的活动呈现出比较鲜明的特色。

At the end of the Qing Dynasty , Li Hongzhang and Yuan Shikai, who were the general governors of Zhi Li province took a series of reforming measures such as drilling new forces, setting up new schools, sending students abroad and inviting foreign teachers. They positively invited foreign teachers from Britain, Germany and Japan and played an important role in the reform.
