The Creative Treason of Translation is a research topic with unique value in the study of comparative literature. Creative treason is a creative translation practice undertaken by a translator prompted by certain definite and clear motive of recreation. The inevitable cultural difference and the dilemma in presentation makes treason unavoidable, though in varying degrees, in any translation practice. A successful creative treason is meant tobe a value added translation. Creative treason should accept the restriction of the original text but at the same time it must surpasses the original. Translation practice should not ignore the standard of host culture and the environment of acceptance. Only by so doing can creative treason result in a value added translation.
