Status Change and Major Characteristics of Elderly Women in China (2000-2010)

主要基于"六普"和"五普"的数据资料,结合第三期中国妇女社会地位调查数据的资料,分析了当代老年妇女群体的社会和经济特征。我国老年妇女群体的内部差异显著,其主体是中低龄老年人,她们健康状况良好,积极参与社会和家庭事务。相对同龄的老年男性而言,老年妇女,特别是农村老年妇女、丧偶老年妇女、高龄老年妇女和失能老年妇女在许多方面依然处于相对弱势的境地。国家在应对人口老龄化的战略和策略中,既要重视发挥中低龄老年妇女在社会和家庭中的积极作用,又要针对弱势老年妇女制定倾斜性政策,使她们有机会共享社会经济发展成果。

Based on the data information of the fifth and sixth nationwide population census,this paper discusses the social and economic characteristics of contemporary elderly women by analyzing the data on the Third Wave Survey on The Social Status of Women in China.Significant differences are found in elderly women in China.Most of them are low-aged elderly.They are in good health and actively participate in social and family affairs.Compared with the elderly men of the same age,elderly women,especially rural women,widowed women,advanced-aged women and disability women,are still in a relatively weak position in many aspects.The country should not only put
