The practice of identifying the age of Liaoxi donkey by dental identification

在辽西地区辽西驴良种登记过程中,总结出了通过切齿的形状、数量、齿痕和磨损程度等鉴定辽西驴年龄的技术方法,并附有各年龄的典型特征的牙齿图片。发现辽西驴换牙时乳切齿与永久切齿"共存"现象和有些老龄母驴长出伪"犬齿"现象,并对一些特殊情况进行了分析说明。

In the process of registration of Liaoxi donkey varieties in Western Liaoning Prov‐ince, we summarized the methods of identifying age of Liaoxi donkey by the shape, number, teeth marks and wear degree of incisors, and attached the pictures of typical characteristics of teeth of different ages. The coexistence of deciduous incisors and permanent incisors was found in Lia‐oxi donkey, and some old female donkeys developed pseudo canine teeth. And some other special cases are also analyzed and explained in this paper.
